A Tribute
Temple Grandin is a professor at Colorado State University, an accomplished speaker, best-selling author, autistic activist, consultant to the livestock industry concerning animal behavior, and was counted among Time magazine's 100 most influential people in the world in the "Hero" category.
At two years of age Grandin was diagnosed with autism and did not begin to speak until age four. Despite what most would consider a set back, Grandin continued in her education to become a revered and respected activist and professor.
Today, Grandin travels the globe and speaks about autism spectrum disorders. She has shared openly at her lectures and often speaks about her experiences of extreme anxiety, feeling threatened by her environment, about being dismissed and feared, and her personal belief in early intervention for students with an autism spectrum disorder.
